The style is an Italian style that is VERY popular in Japan called Eurobeat. It's usually around 150 - 160 bpm, just edging hardcore speed. Most of it all sounds the same to me but they basically are fast eighties style music.

My friend is pretty big into it and he'd sure know. As for me, I don't know much at all. I suggest looking for a compilation series called Super Eurobeat on the Avex Trax label. It just got to number 162 so there are plenty to listen to. Good luck!

...its also known as Super Eurobeat or Para Para. Anyway its basicly made by Italian artists to Japanese market.
You might get some info from there -> http://eurobeat-prime.com I listen some Super Eurobeat with Japanese vocals.
