Might be a bit of a daft question but can anyone tell me how to make backgrounds of images translucent in paint?
Gotta design a dodgeball and a wee-man for a computer games assignment.
Any help greatly appreciated!
*edit* may have photoshop 5 kickin about if anyone could tell me how to do it on that.

When you say translucent do you mean so the white bits of the foreground are transparrent?

I think I know what you mean...
Use the "select" tool (looks like a dotted rectangle) and use that to box the thing you want in the foreground. Now you will notice that there are two buttons of coloured shapes below the tools, the top one is selected as default. Change it to the second one, now white on the image will appear transparrent so you can see the one behind it :)

I use Paint Shop Pro 9, and with that comes Animation Shop, with that i just paint the background as translusent. Dont know other ways, as i dont really use that function that much.
If you are still having trouble, i can edit the background away if you send the pic to me.

Think it only works when you paste/drag it over a background picture while your still on paint.

Oh right, it's just the image has to be drawn on in a java game, can't do it in paint.
Cheers for the help anyway man!
