i guess i should put this out there too.
Hardcore is pretty underground in the states. you have to look a little harder to find shows that have hardcore talent, they aren't listed in the news paper or anything. Also, you won't find them here, as only like 5 members on hhc.com are from texas and that place is huge. If you can find a hardcore dj that plays out then you will find parties that have hardcore. They won't be like HTID or Hardcore Heaven but, at least 1 hour of hardcore at a party is better than 0.
Also, if you can't, then make yourself that 1 dj that plays that 1 hour in a event. The thing is, is if you play upfront style Hardcore, don't call it happy hardcore to promoters, they will think cheezy breakbeat chipmunk cartoon shit. Also, the thing is, is that once in a while, people will say no to you, life happens. Move on, and keep giving out demo's. I've handed out hundreds of demos and only started to play out this year. I've been dj'ing for 5 years. Do the math, that means 4 years of learning and 4 years of handing out demos.
If then if no one books you, then it's time to find someone to loan you money and get serious about throwing your own event. Start out small, have more than one room so that you can have another genre in there so some people show up to your party.
You may lose money, you may not, but at least if it goes off then you know that you can have a hardcore scene in your town.

they think HHC is gay??????
then what the hell is trance?????
If there is one electronic music-style that's popular in the gay society then it's that goddamn trance! house and it's substyles a close second.
those bitches need to get their facts straight.

Yerah no dude that dude is a fake ass dj who talks shit and plays to those kids that dance off battle type shit!
The general america thinks "hardcore" is gabber/speed/terror/shit whatever!(texas is the same way of course) But noone knows exactly what "upfront hardcore" or really in pretty much all cases don't really even know or really aren't familiar with "happy hardcore". I have only met one person in my entire life of being that knew what hardcore was all about and was so much into but we only chilled a couple of times.

yeah really, i was only trying to give some advice on starting small events. Please don't have a go at me almighty ancient raver of 7 years. I don't do the whole "i've been raving longer than thou so I know more than you" bit, but being that I'm a working dj, and do event promotion I figured I'd give my input. I guess I'll shut up because it seems like you've got it pretty well handled. I've already gone down this avenue with you in the past and I'm not prepared to have a battle of wits with someone that does not come to the table with any ammo.

Seriously though, Bobby has some freakin sound advice, listen to him instead of whining about "who knows the scene better".
wow, wow, wow....don't turn the table like im doin the only one whining or dissing...so you need to chill. This is has nothing to do with "sound advice" (at all).

wow...like are you guys have completely turn these tables. You said you lived here for 4 years...ok you said that like if I didn't live here or I had no credibility in texas? Like I really don't know people started backing you up and I was the one who didn't know what I'm talking about.(i flippin live here) As for sounding like I have been partying SO LONGER and everyone is wrong type of way of thinking your sompletely wrong and an 18 year old can't really talk shit like myself like that and make myself sound so oldskool anyway. Your advice was awesome believe it was but I'm telling you where we live its very very weird here like I can't explain it. SO anywayz sorry people didn't mean to come off like some know it all which I know I didn't but probably ONCE AGAIN got misunderstood.

Yep, seems like a big misunderstanding to me, not the first time that e_m_e has been misunderstood.
I reckon maybe e_m_e, if you typed a bit slower or something, made sure that you typed exactly what you meant....
so that others couldn't get the wrong end of the stick....

Its kool the comp and when I'm stoned is usually the only times I get misunderstood. I possibly was high writing pretty muchall of that. But its weird how I have to revise and re-edit and qoute people so they can have a better understanding of what I'm typing. UGH MAKE SME SICK! Trying to defend and maintain credibility and peace on the net is so impossible! LMAO....lataz*
