it depends what you classify as 'old skool' the old skool your talkin isnt actually old skool its breakbeat, hardcore, jungle, etc, old skool is just a term you use to describe past music, I was referring to the happy hardcore peek 1994-1997 as old skool, its old, and i listened to it when i was in school! lol.
but going on what your saying then for example bonkers 13 hixxy mix is not old skool even though its called old skool the cd, its got happy hardcore tunes on it, so its not old skool, they lied?
(its kinda a weak arguement but thts all i got at the mo!)
lol

I think people just tend to avoid calling happy hardcore "oldskool" (even though technically it is) as it's just too confusing. The original breakbeat hardcore is referred to as "oldskool" almost as if it were the name of the genre so people just assume thats what your talking about.

Old Skool imo is pre 95 rave music. Its about musical style not age.
Everyone would have there own interpetation of what old skool is.

A breakbeat is a sampled drum loop.

haha no worries, (when i said sampling jazz and funk i did mean the drum beats! lol)
hardcore terror vs hardcore cheddar is wicked i like very much! when scott brown called himself the 'scotchman' lol.
hardcore re-united is good, espcially slipmatts mix,
others...
The Ultimate Happy Hardcore Album is ok, bit more trancey then happy hardcore
10 years of hardcore by scott brown...if thats your thing, can say i like his stuff very much (except the 1 mentioned), but most people do so..
theres a Helter skelter album coming out but its ministry of sound..might be worth a look
I liked the world of vinylgroover, very nice
and of course scooter: our happy hardcore...lol only jokin!!!

Sorry it isn't old skool but then again it isn't the newest stuff around. Anyway it is Happy Hardcore at it's best and I think the mixing in it is class lol

I like Hardcore Nation 2, especially the 1st track on the 2nd CD (mix of deedee - forever).
