Personally I prefer funky coloured braids but dreads are cool too.

im not sure of any off the top of my head, ill have to do some digging. but the main thing you want is a shampoo that doesn't leave residue in your hair. that residue is what causes your dreads to fall apart. its because it "greases" the hairs so instead of locking they slide apart.
