UK stuff in general : Yes its turned to real pish.

However, check out smaller labels as already stated and mix that with a healthy dose of drum and bass (not just breakbeats, delve into the realms of concorde, pendeulm and John B for example) , breakcore and gabber and you'll soon see that the skys the limit in terms of creativity if you want to see out fresh sounds and come up with innovative mix's.

The key is: Get up off yer arse, get online and start digging.

Dont trust your local record store, dont trust HMV, dont trust any of the big labels.

Thats all generic muck.

Take hardcore into your own hands and make it your *own*

Not at all, but I think that's probably because I've gone from dance -> trance -> rap -> trance -> hardhouse -> dance -> hardhouse -> hardcore and I still hear new songs all of the time since I'm relatively new to the genre.

I think the key is not to be lazy and to keep on searching for music, rather than complaining that your collection is bland and boring.

LOL!

I think that some remixes COUGH!!Sy&Unknown! Are starting to sound samey, same with Hixxy in some ways, although they do produce the odd gems, u just have to sift through all the sh*t for them. I guess there must be some people that like the same "sounding" tunes over and over just with a different melody & sample - I'm assuming thats what can be classified as boring, at least it is to me. Also, mentioning Hixxys sound -~Heaven in my Heart [Bonkers 14] almost sent me to sleep- I could handle that sound in Bonkers 12, but isn't it a bit rusty now? I suppose these tunes appeal to people who havent heard much hardcore before. I think Hardcore in general [commercial] will become boring if the guys at the top let it and spout out the same stuff - you just need to look beyond the guys at the top if you find that- unless it puts you off hardcore forever, in which case, you were never truely htid anyway.

Ramble over

Could i just say that Sy & Unknowns tune nearly always sound the same!!!! Don'y get me wrong i like Sy & Unknown but they do use avery generic sound in all their releases. (before anyone starts naming stand out tunes - There is a reason they stand out because they actually sound different for a change, you can however garauntee that the next 4 releases will all sound the same again and so on........)

If hardcore is becoming boring it's all down to personal opinion. some people will get bored of it untill something new comes along but others will never tire of it and they are the true hardcore ravers who will be there at the start of the next hard dance revolution.

Nuff Said

I think hes being smart, and rightly so.

Scouse house basically sounds like your average raver baby release scalled down by 30bpm.

So in a way, he's damn right.

The commercial element is really blurring the boundries, and thats ALWAYS bad for the music.

In regards to Sy+Unknown -

please, dont feel the need to even bother saying "no offense to them or anything, etc" because at the end of the day, they produce the greatest pile of ****ing shite in the world and thats tyhe end of teh story,

I dont like rock, thats why i dont buy rock records. If your stupid enough to buy records from a genre you dont like, its hardly the genres fault.

No one? For the past ~4 years ive been listening people moan that trance is becoming boring, all the big artists are using all the same sounds over and over again, and its harder and harder to find the good tracks from the crap. Thats exactly whats happening to Hardcore, the good stuff is still being made, its just a bit harder to find then few years ago. All the newbies that come to the scene, havent got bored of the style. They are basicly making sure for a steady cash flow for the big names, eventhough the core fans are getting bored of it. I remember few years back i could buy a CD that had Hardcore written on it, and just knew it would be a good CD. Now its a bit diffrent, needs some digging. But the quality stuff is still there, still being made.

Seriously, theres not a soul in this site that doesnt know that you liked more the Hardcore from the mid 90's. There is no need to spam it in every topic you post.
