hahahaha same here man.

If you look back at old skool happy hardcore alot of in contained Amens & think thinks. these are two drum kits which dominated DnB and ragga-jungle for long time.
It’s nice to here some of the old breaks and break downs come back now and again.

"Hardcore was originally breakbeat, then it progressed to the 4/4 kickdrum, and dnb branched off."
Ok, I understand that hardcore and dnb started in the same place, don't get me wrong the old skool is quality and breaks can add a certain something to tracks without destroying them but when we go to 'the darker side of hardcore' wouldn't it be better if it just went gabba mental instead of into a black hole?
And if hardcore is better with a change to break beats every now n then, surely it goes that once in a while dnb would benefit from a dabble into a regular beat? But this doesn't happen, explanations anyone (and I won't accept the answer that dnb is too good or needs no improvement!)?
ALSO:
"dont like it, dont listen to it."
I don't mate. On tapes I fast forward it, skip it on cds n go to the techno room at raves.

Obviously you havnt a clue about gabba either, as alot of that shit features breaks as well..
Ever hear of shitmatt? producer? hellfish?
Mr.Skywalker, what are you on about "darker side of hardcore£???
Breaks in UK/Freeform tracks add possibly the grimiest, dirtiest, bass heavy "dark sides" to the entire tunes at times.
And as for drum'n'bass not going into a "regular beat"?
Once again, you obviously dont know much about various hardcore styles and sub genres.
Drill'n'bass, breakcore, idm...
All feature heavy combinations of both elements.

My problem isn't with breaks, if you read properly then you'd have got that from my last message. My problem is with the dnb.
"Drill'n'bass, breakcore, idm..."
Sub genres they maybe, hardcore they are not. The difference in name indicates the difference in style therefore drill'n'bass ain't hardcore.

The more rules you put on music, the less interesting it becomes.

4/4, Breaks, etc etc etc.....
Producers use whatever they feel like using at the time.
It's all good.
It's all Hardcore.

I Agree with Squidge. And i also see what he is sayin, unlike some of you, it seems (no names mentioned-billybigballs). The beef is not with breakbeats- i like breakbeats, in the sense that it is a non-standard beat, but in the style of hardcore. Dn'B is something completely different, and i hate it. It sounds so different to breakbeat, breakbeat can be mixed easily into hardcore and it sounds mint, but with d n' B, they just stop the hardcore and slap in some Dn'B-and there is nothing worse than getting a stomp on, only to have to stop because of that. And thats how i feel-and dont give me no 'you dont know enough about the sub genres', becasue, while i may not (you never know), i know what i like, and thats hardcore, not D'n'B.
