The 'Songwriter' writes the lyrics, could be the singer, producer, the dustman, anybody.
Whoever it is, is the songwriter.
....what have you got in mind?

I've written tons of lyrics not sure how many are suite to hardcore but I'd be interested to find out. That goes to any other producers as well. If your interested i can PM you some examples. Or if you have a tune already i can write some.

From a songwriting point of view - lyrics are just one bit. In my opinion, to help make a killer track, its the melody thats the important part - so that it compliments the music, also the phrasing of the words used is very important, as not all words will fit with the melody. It can take ages finding the right words to fit the melody, but what do i know, lyrics annoy me.
I can think of good melody lines till the cows come home - but lyrics do my nut in..

upfrontcore = upfront hardcore, which quite many use shorter form.
soft core = hixxy or something. theres a soft core compilation i saw on the hhc.com site. probably trancy stuff which has, normaly, lyrics in it.
what exactly have i just made up?

Just steal vocals like most hardcore producer does. haha. seriously you can just get in touch with a singer they usually have some songs written already that can suite what you are doing. then give them like $10 for doing the vocals, just know how to record vocals right.
