sry, dont know if this counts as gear talk or not...
but i need to know about installing drives, whether or not you need the software to do so. jsut got ff11 and then realised the gaming computer doesnt have a dvd drive for some reason lol. but the old beast does. so if its a simple instalation i might be able to do ti myself.... if not, sorta gonna have to buy a new one! >.<

I'm assuming you mean IBM-standard PC and not mac......
simple connection (best looking up an online guide to installing a drive tho).
if you have XP it may have a suitable driver for you, otherwise google your drive model and you should be able to get a driver for it.

meh, sorta helped. i jsut pulled out some old drive from a pile and put it in. works :)
