1996! I would love to go back to some of the days back then (musically) it was a Bangin Era!(musically)
You had all the Happy Harddcore being played back in my old town it was ace trying to convert my old best mate was hard but you had all the early happy tunes being played by the old legendary DJ's
All the United Dance mixes were ace and i have a few still there priceless to me!
Then of course (whittle) close your eyes on this 1!
The weekends were worth waiting for listening and recording all the mental hardcore tunes being played by STU ALLEN!
I was 19/20 back in 1996!
I do remember hearing Gabber sounds in 96 coming to think about it by the likes of Bass Reaction-Technophobia mi thinks and Stu Allen used to do a Hard hour of bangin Hardcore on his show i remember hearing chants of 'Hears Jonny' and that rather annoying tune 'Show me how to beat the devil'

Actually, nope!
Because, in the words of Jenks:
'I'd choose 96 though, so I could experience both'
Makes sense really.

ya auld hound.

In 96 I was only 12. although I was still listening to hardcore and going to under 18 raves it still would have been awesome to be at the old rez events. I grew up in the early nineties idolising the rave scene on the whole, etching rez symbols in my jotters and wishing I was old enough to go to the events and be a part of it all.

So yeah, 96.

1996 for sure, thats where all the classics av come from, when Dance really started2 find itself.

But then i hear these trax now on 'The Wonder Years', Radio1 (Ace slot) and i still consider them2 be my wonder trax even if i wasn't 18, as i still grew up listenin' 2them and rememba bouncin' round me room goin mental, just high on life and the sound of those fast beats!

I weren't old enuf2 drink nd didn't know what drugs were...... I just loved the music!
But 06 has alot2 come yet and from wot i've heard so far, it sounds promisin'

But....... LONG LIVE '96!!

Then along with that the trance revolution happening from about 96 onwards.

Everything was still released on vinyl back then, drugs were better and rez, helter skelter and everything still going strong.

It's still good now and i make the most of it but the lack of vinyl releases i like and the main style at the big raves means it's a very easy choice for me to make.

same here would have been 18 in 92 then

Why? Without it there probably wouldn't be half as much hardcore being made in other styles... atm freeform sounds more like trance than RB anyway...

I wasnt thinking of freeform at all, the stuff I'm wishing would take more of a front-row in hardcore is Thin N Crispy, Ham's stuff, etc.
