All the rez and shoop mixes he done were also bouncy techno and gabber actually, i dont no if any dutch compilations had him mixing either but he's been big in there scene for over a decade so most probably is.

He's also made trance and old school why do people think it has to be one or another? It's music not a competition on what styles best

I liked the comment about Gabber not being music. Personally I'm not really into Gabber, and I didn't enjoy Scott Brown's mix on Bonkers 15, but a LOT of people will say UK hardcore is not music, or even any form of dance music isn't 'music'.

You get people like Goths for example that explain its only real music if guitars and drumkits are used

It all depends on tastes, my mates all moan about how UK hardcore is all 'drum and bass', and the people at Uni, well they think Tiestos adago fro strings is "hardcore"

i think comments like thats hold back this countrys rave scene from being what it could. Anno it was before my time but raves used to play everything and it was massive with loadsa people into it. At rez's and stuff like that were playing bouncy techno, gabber, happy hardcore, jungle and everything else from that time.

Everything grown apart into it's own tiny scenes with some people saying the music i love isnt even music, then the gabbers saying happy/uk hardcore's music for gays and teenage girls.

Can go on squabbling forever and it wont get anywhere, when the smart producers are making whatever they like and getting on with it.

Once again gonna quote one of the ionosphere crew with "creativity transcends the boundaries of genre". A point of view worth listening to instead of shitty little digs at peoples choices in music they listen to.

Completely agree with what Baldo has said.

Music

The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre.

Does gabba fit into the above description... Yes.

Someone once said Technophobia was gabba? It was hardcore TECHNO at it's best with yes you have guessed it, HARD BEATS!!!!!!

Ok, Scott Brown has done many great and not so great tracks in many styles and if he was to go gabba may we have more gabba tracks like Smoke this MF which Scott Brown did with Paul Elstak, two legends who go by their own name!

Scott Brown has always played Gabber and always will, so everyone get used to the idea! Now if you want to really worry about a UK DJ playing Gabber then look at Brisk! coz he's becoming converted to the quality MUSIC I call Gabber! (Speed Freak on HH3 can't wait!)

Errr when I said I liked the comment about Gabba, I meant it in a completely different context. I didn't mean I agreed that it wasn't music, that wasn't my point.

I meant that I found it ironic in that many people in this country, well all countries, will argue that hardcore as a whole is not 'music' so it is sort of double standards saying happy hardcore is music, yet Gabba isn't. Bulby I totally agree with your statement, that music is can take almost any form, and I do not class 'music' only the stuff I enjoy because that's stupid and immature

For give me, for being dutch

But isn't it true that some you "hardcore Uk-gabbers" called Scott a traitor? For the fact that he "crossed over" from Happy to "dutch" Gabber?

Please correct me if I'm wrong or out of line

I first came into Happy hardcore UK-style via Scott brown's realy need you!
So, now I'm hooked. I can't say I care for all of the things he does with Darrien Kelly or Neophyte. I don't like the present sound of Dutch hardcore, it's all bass and no melody. just mindless banging can be fun, but not 10 hours on end.

In return I do like the B-side's of his records. It sounds like the old hardcore
So for me, Scott is just HH uk...
