Most people know me as Evel who likes 'Old skool beats' But then people ask my what sort of beats these are.

Wanting to Get High (Hixxy and Sharkey)
Attitude (Hixxy and Trixxy)
I wanna be a hippie (Technohead)
Technophobia (Bass Reation)
Is anybody out there (Ham)

These are all tracks with the kind of drum beats I like. What beats does everyone else like?

I like the beat that kicks in, in Slashing Fun Kids - Imagination, but normally I don't really take that much notice of the beats compared to the rest of the track, unless they sound stupid or something... :s

Diff beats for different tunes, like the bouncy techno kicks your on about evel but they only work for a certain style.

Like really savage gabba with big driving kicks, but on trance it needs to be lighter obviously.

I personally dont like the club style kick drum in hardcore, it's weak enough as it is but then at the speed hardcore is it sounds even worse and lighter.

Each to there own innit, no matter how much you try and show people your opinion evel mate they aint gonna agree. Pm me if your interested in mixes with more of the type of tunes and kicks you like, i'll sort you out.

And X-tarsia from what i've heard hybrid are definitely something special i'll try and look out for that album

I'm dutch, so anything hard like:
Neophyte - mellow moenie mauwen
always make my day.

But still dutch oldskool like:
Boomind Bass - Rode schoentjes
or
Gabbaheads - I'm a thunderbaby
Always seem to get my blood flowing and my spirits up....

*cheering for oldskool*

you really dont though buddy even all the boys over here listen to girly hardcore and get scared when they hear a real kickdrum

no it's not that bad actually a lotta people are doing there own thing, we do have a lot of talent it's just whenever i've been to holland it's so much bigger and better. But aye i defo recommend visiting over here and checking out the raves, be something different and we are quite a friendly bunch.

In holland i have to say i found people beyond friendly, like even though i didnt speak a word of dutch people would talk away in english to me it meant a lot. Plus when they heard how far i'd travelled they'd go out there way to make sure i had whatever i wanted and enjoyed my time there.

Agreed, Angel is one of the nicest people ever. Even though I don't speak Dutch, she has always spoken to me in English and never once complained.

Ah... Is that so?
Well, being english hasn't got anything to do with being Hardcore
I just like to talk english where ever I go, even in Amsterdam

We do. We love every one in the scene, who is commited and comming from so far has def. got some credits to it.
But sadly, the young generation lost all meaning to the word gabber. The scene isn't what it used to be...

But we Dutch just love the English, what can I say
