I'm curious about the different styles that branch out of hardcore.
I've seen many sub-genres talked about here:
Trancecore
Speedcore (?)
Gabba
Happy Hardcore
plus many others....
I'm kinda curious about all the ones you guys/gals know of, and give a brief description of what you think defines each genre.
I remember my friend giving me a lecture on METAL and telling me the differences between like death metal, black metal, doom metal, thrash metal, and it was quite interesting to hear somebody give their opinions on the differences of each.
Who knows, maybe this will lead to some debates, I'm sure some of you might disagree with others on the way somebody else defines one of the genres.

I thought GABBA was the form of music and GABBERS are the people who listen to it.
According to many sources on the internet it looks like it can be said either way. Kinda like the color grey/gray. Where both are acceptable spellings.
Do a google search of HARDCORE GABBA...you'll get plenty of results. :)

ultratone is a lotta shit you cant even make out the beats its so fast, not heard this splittercore yet but i think speedcores class so dunno if i'll like it or not.

yeh Baldo I'm really into Speedcore at the mo! after that the BPM's are pointless! at the end of the day we still need a tune aswell! But I think 210 is perfection!

thats what im like paul i love tracks that are both hard and full of energy, but are also musical and not just hard for the sake of it.
i've not really got into the industrial style stuff yet, i'd need to hear some splittercore cos might be alrite for a couple tracks of mayhem at the end of a set but if it's like ultratone i cant be arsed with it.
Started to hear a couple of tracks out recently that are really like bouncy techno, not the shitty new-old style tracks that are doing the rounds but really good hardcore with tough kickdrums. Hopefully be seein some get released i need to check up more often on new releases, just there normally that dull i cant be arsed.

not heard that one mate will check it out, fav at minutes probs the nosferatu mix of this one http://www.phuturerave.com/view.php?pID=3137 got a nice long breakdown with breakbeats then when it drops it's full on madness. then for speedcore this is a top release http://www.phuturerave.com/view.php?pID=3223, b2's absolute savage my fav changes many times a day tbh though mate, mostly like the old stuff but there is still enough to keep me going on phuturerave most the time
