I am desperately trying to mix a gabber tune with a freeform song. The Gabber goes into freeform, and the particular freeform song I am mixing is very strange. I can't get them to sync up for some reason.
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if it would help to say what songs I am referring to, it is Whatcha Gonna Do by Reese into Dynasty Wars by Deeper Territory (this song has a strange layout.)

Which way round are you mixing them? IMO you should go from freeform to gabba... You can try doing something like eq'ing some of the bass off of the gabba tune so it doesn't just entirely swamp the freeform tune.

True, but the gabber comes right after a freeform tune, then back into another one.
I could always slide it in the end, but it works with the tune before it...Extremely Dangerous by Reform.

mmm it's just my personal opinion really not a hard rule but it sounds weird and messes with the flow to mix from hard and distorted to a punchier more bouncy sound.

depends on the track
freeform to gabber is easier than the opposite
I'd bring in the highs and some mids from the freeform track and raise the mids (and lower the highs and mids on the gabber track) gradually
when the bassline of the freeform track kicks in switch the bass and get the mids high up
this way the freeform track will be driving again
dunno if I explained properly

^^
pretty much what I would have said. just mess with the eqs until you get it sounding decent. more so with the mids and the bass with the kick drums on gabber.
