Any one got any thoughts on which they prefer?
The are some of the most popular dance songs and most of the ones that make it into the charts that are mixes / remixes (sometimes sadly so, because newly produced songs can be better then the remixs or mixes and the mixes are given an unfair advantage because people recognise the actual song... i.e. the new baywatch release.)
Do you prefer this? The art of making an old song much better / bringing it into a new genre. Or would you much prefer a new production, that someone has created?
I personally think that the mix has to have been changed substantially or bought into a new genre if the new artist is to even put their name on it. I do like remixes, but I also miss now that it apears commerically, less and less dance is coming into the charts unless it is a remix =( I am also kind of disheartened that everything seems to be R'n'B these days and so much decent dance is overlooked... not that it needs chart status, but more publicity would be good... I hate all these 'Usher' and 'Missy Elliott' Interviews on tele =(

I'd rather listen to a new production over a remix

Defo go for the new stuff... remixs are good only for new versions... but its never "Original"
Anything Original kicks ass!!!!
so new production is always better...
It also sucks when you here a really good tune just get ****ed over in a remix... like the recon remix of angels eyes...
Alot of people love it... fair enough thats there taste... but the original was sooo great... i still listen to it today and it still makes the hairs stand up on the back of neck... NOTHING can come close to that...
