1996 to 1999 was a complete CHEESE fest and 2000+...well what can I say? Only just better!

Force and Styles killed the scene for me (BOO HOO!)

Tell me a tune after 1995 that comes close to these tunes...

1. Sense of Summer - On Top - Universal 001
2. Happy Rollers - '95 Style - Universal 003
3. Billy Bunter & JDS - Let it Lift You - Just Another Label 010
4. Diss Reaction - Jieehaaa! - Ruffneck 024
5. Scott Brown - Now is the Time - Evolution 015

Their are sooooo many!!!!!!!!!!

Just for info Sense of Summer were DJ Force and the Evolution comprising of amongst other "FORCE AND STYLES" :)

Obviously they made some good tunes too... "All you Bastards" and "Down to Love" and "All over the World" for example.

Granted "Attitude" (Essential Platinum 009) is a pretty good tune but it don't compare with what I have listed! As for "Wanting to get High"! Oh no no no

Hey, only my opinion

All you bastards was originaly by Euruption in 1995. It wasn't as cheesey as Force and Style's version. And the best remix by Rorce and styles was of Euruption's Sureender from 1996. Both the original and remix are classics of the times.

EDIT- Wanting to geth High will always be my Hardcore Anthem!

There is lots of "old Skool" type stuff being released. The producers seem to like to call the music they produce Hardcore breaks (silly name).

I like the name 'Bouncy Hardcore' more, it's like Happy Hardcore but came out post 2000. Tracks like Eclipe's Be Happy (Brisk and Vaggabond remix) and Stormtrooper's Tune In are good examples of this. Also anything by Seduction and the Warehouse Wax label.

Smoogie, you should like Stick 'Em by Robbie Long & Stormtrooper.

Remember, it's all hardcore.

SORRY my apoligise regarding 'All you bastards' as I said it was Force & Styles but obviously it was 'Eruption'.

May I add that only because Force & Styles were part of Sense of Summer and they made a couple of good tunes it does not mean they are not responsible for making some of the most CHEESIEST crap known to man!

They did and probably still do (if they are still working together?) want to break into the mainstream commercial market and them saying it is because they want to reach a wider audience with 'Hardcore' is rubbish. All they wanted was money and fame which although they have done well from the scene they will never earn what they could do from the commercial market nor will they ever be really known.

Heart of Gold and Pretty Green Eyes are diabolical cheese fests which directed the scene in '96 to what it became later on. YES there are other DJ's/Acts which are also responsible for churning out shite.

And how the F*@K did the Freeform era come about!? Apart from being faster than the commercial 'Trancedance' music where were the differences?

There used to be definative genres with Happy Hardcore, Bouncy Techno, Gabba, Breakbeat...but not anymore. Obviously music changes but Hardcore has become an even more laughable genre han it ever was. It is good to see Nu-Skool coming about which is at least trying to go back to the glory days (AND YES THEY ARE GLORY DAYS!)

Anyway, enough of my babbling!!!!!!!!!!!

What you on about?

'Bouncy Hardcore' as you call it and older sounding breaks stuff are 2 totally different sounds.

A lot of newer hardcore tunes are using older style synths, but they still sound nothing like old breakbeat Hardcore.

Warehouse wax and Maximum Impact couldn't be more different!

Ok, Warehouse wax isn't the same but I think there is a small Bouncy Hardcore sceane out there. It's just beingmignored by the mainstream because it isn't the 'latest' thing

But Old skool (i hate that term) sounding tunes ARE the latest thing in Upfront Hardcore at the minute - every other tune from the last year has had some 'older' elements about it.
And i don't think it's being ignored either - you CAN'T ignore it because it's all that's out there!

Maybe i'm exaggerating slightly but you get the idea.

Kind of agree with that but from what i've heard i'd say more 92-94 for the breakbeat style stuff, and 93-97 for the scottish/dutch bouncy techno and gabber. I still like quite a lot of gabber to be honest but prefer the old stuff in general.

I love a few of the cheesy tunes from 96-97 but most is horrible on my ears, the rest of the nineties arent even worth talking about musicwise is the worst time.

I loved raving at the start of the 00's cos was when i could first go to raves, was mainly old bouncy techno where i lived anyway but i loved new hardcore aswell. Especially when i moved down south was always going to sanctuary and all that, everything sounded fresh to me and was a lotta different styles coming out.

Then basically last years where i totally lost interest in uk hardcore raves, some people still make stuff i like but its so few and far between i can't even be arsed. I'm quite happy to never go to a rave playing uk hardcore again, maybe i'm wrong but i cant see it changing into something i'll like anytime soon.

as long as the other rooms are playing different music im quite happy, uk hardcore is so boring, predictable and yea... boring

I think Force & Styles made some descent tracks (I love the kelly llorenna Heart of Gold, never really liked Jenna's version from the diverse2ht vinyl tho), Funfair i really like that track, the non vocal is more nicer tho! All systems go etc.

Eruption was always one of fav producers, Another lonely day being top!!!

Is wanting to get high (smoogies awake) a different tune from wanting to get high, I have a tune on vinyl called Hixxy & Chuff feat. Elaine - Smoogies Asleep (Again) which is gotta say one of my most listened to tracks. Is this the same one or is it one of the early BABY version?

So they call it Hardcore Breaks, maybe that's why I can never find anything will have to look it up

Yes, thats a great track too. A lot of Robbie's and Stormtrooper's stuff si good at the moment, only the beats are soft it has a good feel to it. Better than most of the mainstream UK/Upfront Hardcore IMO

They aren't soft, the kicks are fooking loud!

They are very well rounded, and punchy. Less distorted than say an old school track I guess.
