If your talking about the moving adds,
their all made by Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Flash.
I use Flash Professional 8 at my work frequently so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I didnt know Adobe aquired them. Ive been using Director (MX 2004) for a couple of years, it can also be useful. Only just scratched the surface of flash but a lot of the components in Director are Flash-y (in the newer versions anyway) so never really felt the need to.
Definately something I'm gonna delve into though once I get more involved in web design, so I will probably call upon your services as a Flash expert if I may when the time comes?
Probably won't be a while though as I'm still trying to master XML and PHP.

flash is definetly the leading edge in online web content, applications, and online mobile software. And not just exclusive to these, flash can do so many things and while not using alot of data space. flash can compress a fairly large sized project and compress it to over half its normal size without losing quality.
and anytime you wanna ask B.C, I'll try and help you to the extent of my understanding of the program ;)

as far as i know,
dont think you can copy a flash file by just html alone,
need the flash file to play it
but maybe you can figure somthing out with the source code?
maybe linking it like you would with a pic...
doubt it...
but dont quote me im just thinking out loud.

if you know the url of the flash file on a certain site... you can created your own Flash Swf file (flash movie) with it using load movie...
it will load the movie dynamicly using acionscripting 2.0 from the external source...
for example... the music player on my site...
you think all them music files with the sound file and info/data about it are all indevisly stored in the same swf???
NOPE!!! bare in mind theres over 50 of them and my freewebs server only alows me to have 50 files... lol
instead i set up more then 1 account and upload them the diffrent files... changing the urls of the loads to the xternal source...
it saves on loading times dramaticly...

that is true,
you can then tell another fla file to load the external swf file into it using actionscript.
Flash is very flexible and you can complete one task multiple ways.
and the only reason the left click takes you to another site is because the swf was set up that way. You have to tell it to do that. And the right click properties are normal for all flash swf's.
