I think that no one should care what anyone thinks? If they think your a chav for liking Hardcore they are clearly don't know what they are talking about, and so their opinion means nothing, so why care anyway?

tbh, i've been called a chav.... why?
Because yeh sometimes i wear trackies and yeh sometimes i WILL wear a cap, and OF COURSE i love dance music.
I always have and always will, bt@the end ov the day it's what inside tht makes you!
And i've gt plenty ov TRUE friends tht say in my defence /quote- 'Midge may look like a chav, bt he aint@all' nd thats comin' from one ov my 'skater friends'

@the end ov the day it dont matter what you wear, it's what's inside that affects the way you act!

The theme should have something to do with the raving scene & hardcore, not what the fools that listen 2 it wear!

It probably won't because it's not down to what we do, it's those from outside the scene who have pre-made judgements primed and ready to be launched.
Some idiots will just call it chavvy because its a genre that is popular with the working classes.

In fact I'm very disappointed with the behaviour of three of my friends who attended the first bank holiday Uprising @ 'the Plug' in Sheffield. (They went for the other rooms though, not the hardcore.) They wouldn't shut up about 'Chav/Scooter central' and felt ashamed of being amongst the 'Chav' types.

They are suppossed to be tolerant, open minded people yet.....
Me and another one of my mates couldn't care however, hence had a bit of dance to the hardcore before Cyantific came on in the DnB room.

Gonna hijack the thread....Kyle, did you go to the Uprising on sunday at plug....

There were a lot of "chavs" at it...and a few mates who were also working said at first they didn't like it....but after a while- many, who hate hardcore, preferred the uprising room (Full of chavs) to many of the other nights we have on due to the friendliness of the crowd.

Some 'chavs' are pure scum.....some are decent, ordinary people. Same with everything that gets branded under the same title...There are always exceptions.

Went to hardstock sunday nite, I don't think I spoke to one chav, as i class chav's as dickheads who just mess things up. Everybody I chatted too was really friendly and I did not see one fight! I'd love to go there anytime again :D

charco you're the boy, you have the right attitude and i'd love to meet you.

I speak with an accent got a few battle scars and if people saw me in a rave i'd most probably be wrecked in my comfy clothes bouncin like a maniac to gabber.

If people want to act snobbish to others f*ck them, at end of the day i'll be shit hot to anyone thats there for a laugh.

and even though i'm defo not a big man (i no that) i've got some balls and if i saw someone get picked on who didnt deserve it i'd help them out.

some ravers who look down on people they see as neds or whatever are the exact same people who'd see a lass get beat up and do nothing.

F*ck them at end of the day, i hate scum and always will but the whole "chav" obsession is just a way for people to look down on the working class.

fannys

I think theres more important things in hardcore to be worrying about.

Besides, i dont think 'chavs' themselves are the problem, but more so the fact that we single them down into that category rather than getting on with our lives and appreciating that we are all different.

As for the whole 'image' thing, why worry what others think? No one listens to hardcore to be cool, there are other scenes for that im sure. Playing speedfreak tunes at uproar during a 4-5 set isnt 'cool' but it never stopped me...

...the ravers certainly stopped tho
