I had a 1 litre Corsa, and a piece of advice, don't try and race anyone in it! It was an alright car though and easy to drive.

To be honest I don't know much about ICE, as I never did it to my car as I was always skint. You would probably get good advice if you went to a shop that specialised in car audio

hmmm

car audio,

sort your battery and power supply if ur wanting to pump out any more than 1000wRMS (thats for your TOTAL sytem)

JL subs are not crap JL always rate there subs in realistic RMS values, most others, tell u peak. Kicker Square subs are shite for SQ.. because there square. in short. (i hope ur not confusing JL with JBL btw JBL are a budget range.)

u'll get alot of ppl goin on about dont get coaxial.. they generally are more expensive and provide more accurate sound, but all those crossovers drain power. and most ppl cant actually tell.

get good power one of those red/yellow top batterys, minimum 4awg cable, dont forget to put better cable between your altenator and your batt! (doing this isnt really nessecary for lower power, more EFFICIANT systems)

a six channel amp would be good for 1 (id say 12")sub (run it bridged) and 2 rear 2fronts.

dont bother with a powercap.

in all honesty, wattage isnt the be all an end all of a good sytem, all it means is how much power it uses, not how much it PUTS OUT

take carefull note of sensitivity, if u find a sub with higher than 90db/w your onto a winner.

and Enclosures are important. ported gives u a fixed boost in a certain frequency. RnB heads should have these..

Hardcore, no way, no where near tight enough. go closed, its got to keep up with the speed :D.

and despite what ppl might say, almost anything is good, aslong as u avoid buget ranges. i had pioneer myself. and i know some ppl who spent 10x as much as me and were using 10x as much juice, and still couldnt get the same volume or clarity. just because i planned ahead and kept things balanced.(slight exagertaion lol)

over amping is better than not enough power, just remeber, just because u can make ur system go REALLY loud, doesent mean ur speakers will handle it for very long. plenty of breathing room power wise give u reliability, and virtually no distortion.(as long as u dont thrash your speakers)

finally, never use the amp in your head unit if u can help it. 50w x 4 = about 10wrms per channel! weedy!

so yea... whats ur budget ?

for a decent but cheap setup, ur lookin at about 350~400

headunit (with front and rear rca)
6 channel amp
12" sub
6x9 in the rear, and i think corsa's have 5" up front check on some random corsa forum though about that.
and a decent 4awg wireing kit.

if u go infinity, they do a decent 6channel amp for about 150, get a headunit for 100, sub for 50, 6x9's and 5" coax's plus a wireing kit. should just fit inside, £350~£400. that would be a sweet setup.

Only thing I disagree with here is that you shouldn't bother with 6x9's. You will get a much nicer sound replacing your standard back speakers with top of the range 3 way pioneers or something. 6x9's are OK for stand alone speakers but aren't good as part of a full system, if you get a good sub that will producer ALL the bass you need. Upgrade the speakers (3 way again) up front as well and fit some extra tweeters up high in the front if you can.

Be sure to wire up your speakers properly, run the cables down the side of the car tucked away do not run them across the floor! Be sure to strap up or screw down your sub.

@ bulby, while what u say is mostly tru, if u set your subs with a LP filter, and let the 6x9's handle the mid bass range, u end up with a louder more efficient system :D (depends on if u have a seperate amp for your subs though)

as for tweets, dont point them at ur face! they'll make ur ears screech :S though they can really brighten the sound up alot!

bristolboy05, id look around on the net! i wouldnt touch max power branded anything with a barge pole lol, though there are some good ads for companys in the back. as far as i know.

just put "car audio" into google :)

i still have a pioneer 2/1 chanel amp 780w peak (400wrms) mono-bridged, 500w peak (250wrms) per channel stereo, cost me 120 about a year ago, £50 if ur interested :D still got some decent cableing aswell (free with the amp). (its been hanging around my house for a while lol just wanna get rid of it really) . i got 2 380w pioneer 6x9s too, for tenner extra if u like :D pm me if ur intrested plus p&p, wouldnt have thought it more than £15 tops to send the lot

Defo get a 10" sub or two. 12" aint ideal for hardcore music as it can't keep up with fast beats as well as a 10" sub, leading it to sound abit disorted sometimes.
I'd agree with bubly_g too. Don't bother with 6x9's, they dont go that well with subs, plus they get nicked alot unless you get stealth shelf which costs about £100ish. Just get a decent set of front speakers (prefrebly component speakers) with some decent (but cheap, about £30) speakers in the back to keep up with front. And why not get a mono amp to just run the sub? Best place to shop is online as its alot cheaper, or you could get them vibe active subs, they aint bad for around £200.
