G'day!
basically i've been producing this weird dark/ambient/hiphopish kind of music for the past year after stopping producing hardcore and trance, and i've wrote a 6 tracker ready for press.
thing is, i'm stuck as to what format to press it into!
i'm on an extremely tight budget - a part time job at £6.50 an hour and £110 living allowance to get to college and back, buy clothes and eat doesnt go too far i can tell you that :)
If you want a listen, my friend matt's been kind enough to upload clips and artwork to http://www.last.fm/music/Strifeii/Entity+EP

I've had a lot of recommendations, and so far online shops like IMOdownload seem best, but god knows if they'd sell this stuff!
Thing is, i'd quite like to get it physically pressed to cd (say 300 copies) and just sell it through the website and to everyone I know and people up town, feels a bit more real that way than just seeing figures on the screen!
If I was to do this, would it cost much, or would there be a cheap way to do it?
To be honest i'm not all THAT bothered about proper pressing with glossy artwork and a 600 page booklet inside, after all its all about the music...
Bascially i'm asking, what's the best way to get your music out there on a tight budget? :)

Any help would be much appreciated, and thanks in advance :)

Burn the cd's off yourself, you can buy bulk cd-rs for next to nout. You can get cd labelling software cheaply or if you don't mind paying a bit more a printer with cd printing facility would be worth a look.

^ wooh. dipshit alert.

anyway. i've been thinking about the whole doing pressing myself thing, but the printing could probably take ages. then again, I could print them as they're needed..
i was thinking the see through flimsy plastic carry case things with pure silver colour cds in, then getting stickers printed (one for each cd)
would be well wickid cause not only can i afford it (hahah) but it's quite different too :)
artwork I can do myself (been graphic designing from home for aagggess) and as for distribution, that's where the problem lies. i dunno if i'd wanna get it sold in shops or just blag them to people and use word of mouth - also gonna get loads of promotional stickers printed and put them in public places (skateparks, on buses, lampposts, walls of clubs where they let you and in the markets i go in where they have the musicy bits etc...)
bit naughty i know but, heh :)
also i've already got tshirts and a website designed and they look phat so they'll help promote everything too!
thanks for your help so far guys :)

Alright Rob

I'll Already reserached this stuff for my Products last year, planning to start doing it next year (mabie evan this year with THE Sk8SiM video 2006 - if your lucky )

Its just the fact that it would look so more professnail to just get a "unopened" professnail DVD case out your bag then just a gay cd in a sleve lol...
(plus i could get away with bunking the price up to £10 )

Aswell as sliding the odd buneiss card to the website you know...

anyways... this stuff may be fairly crap but its what i found last year... its just been bookmarked on my favs for the past year or so lol

Some good tunes. Why not hold tight for a while and demo it, if you get it signed it will save you alot of hassle.

Great stuff - I'd go with the diy approach - and get some in the local shops (If they'll let you do that).

On a side note - it's really good stuff, very well produced
