original hardcore?

most of this 'dark' hardcore you speak of that he plays is produced by him and 'dark' hardcore has been around just as long (if not longer) than 'happy' =P

Dark I think you mean gabber, he plays two styles I quite like it but you have to listen to the entire set to get into it.

scott browns stuff has always been dark you prat (no offence)

i've said it tons of time... its a PRODUCERS STYLE!!!!

like soon as a scott brown track comes on... you'll know its a track by him without evan looking at the tracklist...

cuse it has that "dark", feeling to it... that "scott brown" feel...

same goes for a remix...
you can notise if it was a B&S mix or a SB mix right off...

i think what your on about is that fanny UK hardcore crap like

all about you...
flow...

don't get me wrong there classic tracks ^^^^
but there not scott browns "style" AT ALL!!!!!

scottie has always been a very dark artist with a passion to write a track with that kind of feeling to it...

thats why alot of goths tend to be into him

i love his style... altho these days it can get very repetative sometimes!!!!

the guys great

yeh i know he has always been dark and yeh i get what you mean about knowing its a scott brown tune, but what i was referring to is that he has 1 style of dark that i like ,e,g tracks like 'commence' 'this is how we do it' and then he has another style that seems much harder and i think the lad before said it was called 'gabber' or something.i wasn't knocking him or anything and i agree yeh he is a legend.

It's all personal tastes and theres good and bad in each.

but gabber/speedcore is much more exciting than uk hardcore to me.

Scott Browns best tunes for me were old bouncy techno stuff on twisted vinyl/evo gold, and the Scott Brown Annihilator bouncy as f*ck old gabber.

Infact loved it aswell wen the whole uk hardcore thing was kicking off shit like neckbreaker, like an angel, turn up the music, definition of a badboy, ghosts and all that.

More recently i've liked the new mix of "rock that body" and the original "fly with you". So aye for all the fact theres a lotta his tunes i dont feel, cant say he's not been constantly crackin out class tunes since about 93/94.

Dunno if many of you will no it but one of my fav scottish oldschool dance tracks is Q-tex "believe" from 94. Got the vinyl wkd for somethin slower i mix it up with Ultrasonics "Obsession" and all that kinda vibe. Cheesy old bouncy dance

Got bored with his uk hardcore formula and pretty much all uk hardcore now, and his nu styles not to my tastes but just reading back on how much i've loved over the years the guys up at the top of the game compared with anyone worldwide.

As a dj he's quality aswell imo no's how to please a crowd. When i used to go ravin in glasgow he'd whack out all his old bouncy stuff or the gabber cos thats what we wanted. At the sanctuary he'd play more the upfront with bit of nustyle at the end, and in holland he's all about nustyle or old gabber dependin what room he's booked in.

On my old pc i had a set from him at x-que where he played the spanish way of 3 deck mixing with his own stuff, makina, pitched up dance, gabber the lot.

He's the only uk dj thats constantly been getting booked at the worlds biggest raves international since the mid 90's, gotta tell you something.

He can be varied when he wants to be jus he no's how to please a crowd, absolute legend to me and always will be.

Only Marc Smith had more of an impact on my early rave tapes, but SB and Davie Forbes were never far behind.

Bring back bouncy techno

I would say he does more trancey/hardcore tunes than gabber. Though I like some of his gabber stuff, I agree it does get very repetative! I dont think "commence" has a dark feeling to it, I would say its more uplifting. I love everytune he's done under Plus system (specially Blue anthem!)

The guys a leg-end tho, look at some of the quality tracks he's produced! and hes a amazing DJ. I like it that he does gabber to, as it does get me bouncin along

Gabber/Gabba/G4|3|3eR and ESPECIALLY hardstyle all need at least 20 minutes for me to actually start getting into them. Not because I dont like it, no, far from it, but because its a groove thing. Takes longer to get me into the gabber groove.

Unless its a total chune (vis-a-vis Back on Track )
