Can you belive it has been ten years to the day that Hixxy and MC Sharkey relesed Bonkers 1 into the shops? I belive that it was also on tape as well as CD. Hixxy's mix was classic Happy Hardcore with Toytown, steamtrain, forever (together) and his remix of On Top (A sense of summer)
Sharkey's mix was slightly more darker with what could be seen as early free form. Tracks like The Truth which he did with Marc Smith have a darker edge yet there was still a lot of Bouncy Techno in the mix with onbe of the best tracks having to be the kickdrum lead Is anybody out there? by Ham which then progresses into another kickdrum lead track, Twiddledum by Druid and Bannaman which I have rated my favorate track on the whole of Bonkers 1.
Who would have thought that Bonkers would have changed from two Happy Hardcore CDs to the Bonekrs of now (although we have lost the forth mix this time) Bonkers has written the deveopment of Freeform and now also has gabber at the end of mixes (and also some Speedcore on the latest) along with new 'Acid Trance' sounds and upfront tracks have made there way onto the mix.
Here is a list of all those who have been part of Bonkers-
Hixxy (Bonkers 1-5, 7-16)
Sharkey (1-5, 8-16)
Dougal (3-7, 13-15)
Sy (6-8)
Scott Brown (9-16)
Gammer (15 and 16)
CLSM (Bonkers 16)
Vibes (Bonkers 6)
Re-con (15 and 16)
Kutski (Bonkers 16)
Neophyte (Bonkers 15)
Marc Smith (Bonkers 15)
Styles (Bonkers 12)
Breeze (Bonkers 12)

k, I'm taking the second slice. Mmm, tastes good, just as cake did back in 1996 before everyone got silly and introduced 'low fat' cakes! I think i would play Bonkers 1 later just as it would have been played by many ten years ago.

That's a fine looking cake..... *licks lips ready to tuck in*
I also played Bonkers 1 today. It's amazing how music from 10 years ago makes me feel high.

Think you'll find that you are 9 days to late. It was released on the 15th July 96 (monday) and not 24th July (Wednesday) but happy birthday anyway to a great Hardcore series!

Was it? I thought it was 26th as it would have been a Monday and 26th was a Monday ten years ago so I came to correct myself but still, Happy Birthday, Bonkers!
