aggressive yes, but energetic? no way, the bpm level nowadays is lower in average than it used to be back in the oldskool days plus back in the day the focus was still on the whole party aspect of it all, not on the rawness like today which results in the new tracks being slower cuz if it goes too fast your distorted kicks will sound like shit.

Old gabber and bouncy technos much more fun in general, stompin kicks but really bouncy and random aswell.

On a dancefloor you cant beat it is the right speed to go nuts, can be cut up mad on the decks and just sounds more ravey.

I like a lot of the new stuff for total hardness, and experimental side to it. but a lot is just too much distortion and doesnt have the party feel the same way.

true, but the pure energy of the oldksool isn't there anymore in the newer stuff :(
