I know this subject has been some what touched on before but I am wondering about it on a much bigger scale.
I drink in pubs a lot and sometimes in the City Centre (I'm from Milton Keynes) and most venues play the usual Urban/RnB. Even the clubs here, if you could call them that, generally play such music. Now, why I can listen to some of this, If I really want a good night out and something to get me in the mood, it has to be some hardcore.
My question is:
Would you like to hear hardcore in public venues such as pubs and 'clubs', just because it would make your night better, or would you prefer it to stay less commercial in the fear it will in some way degrade the quality of music.
Personally, I can't choose, if the music was to stay at the same standard I'd love to hear it while I'm out, but with past genres I have felt it just results in the Artists mass producing a fair amount of shit for money.
Your opinions would be appreciated on this matter.... :)
PS: Anyone know of any good raves, legal or otherwise in the local Milton Keynes area? PM if nessecary. Thanks. :D

In my area there is no way that they would play hardcore in any pub or club, (the only exception to that being for the under 18's)
There simply isn't enough demand for it, the only time i have heard that played anywhere since the good old days is at event likes back to the future.
But normally any club just don't play hardcore and as for a pub, in my area i think you would be escorted from the premises just for asking them to play it
Although i like hardcore personally i wouldn't want to hear it at a pub or club unless its an event, the reason being that imo most of the recent hardcore is terrible!! i could sit and listens to all the classics all night long but when it comes to some of the new stuff after a coulpe of tracks i'd have to leave and of course they would have to play new stuff as even the classics week in week out would get repetative

a couple of pubs my way do hardcore. usually very good only problem i see is repeatedly getting a good turn out. usually they are fairly small nights with local djs, if u dont have big names can be difficult to get people to come.
also if the pub doesnt have a late finish its sucks, alot of people are only just gettin going at 11.

If you're talking about Hardcore being played in pubs/clubs as background music, never gonna happen!

I live in-between Aylesbury a Wycombe and we sometimes play hardcore (as well as most other underground dance music) in small local clubs and pubs :)

No, I wouldnt want Hardcore commercialized. They dont even play Hardcore at our rave events, unless its breaks/Dnb. I would like for Happy Hardcore to become more big in my scene, but hardly anyone likes it. Lets see, they played Happy Hardcore back in 2005 at one event I went to. DJ Sunrize was there so he kept the vibe up. I have only heard some Happy Hardcore twice this year. One set being a 1998 revival, lol. But ya, I wish UK Hardcore was bigger here, just not in clubs.

Haha, I'd love to play loudly in my local something like punchdrunk, boomstick or have it your way.
