Vs can be an original song. It's often just used in titles of collaborations.

I guess each producer (or producers as the case would be) could have there own reasoning for putting it in the title. An example would be TnC Crew vs Scott Brown - Made Up Track, the track could use a TnC bassline and kick but with Scott style riffs. That's just one example of what it could mean though.

It could be used in place of remix as well I guess. Original Artist vs Remixer - Remixed Track. Wouldn't be any different from a remix :)

Don't know if that answers your question or if I'm just dribbling off on a mad one though ;)

it could be....

vs - the two artist have both had equal input towards the track hence both of there names listed as the artist

remix - the track is done by someone then someone else tweaks it a bit and thats there mix

Cheers for the help Bulby and Chris!! I think?

As an example these were 2 two tunes I was looking at and couldn't see why they were named differently:

Darwin Vs Moby - Everytime You Touch Me
Ian Van Dahl - Will I ( Darwin remix )

Perhaps CDJay could explain or even better Darwin himself?

Kat

Who is Darwin?? Is he a real producer/remixer that has had stuff released? Or is he someone that just remixes track and posts on the interweb?

As for the Darwin vs Moby track did you d/l from p2p? or is it a whitelabel? i say that because i own the original moby vinyl from back in the day and the only artist credited on that is Moby

If it has been d/l from p2p i would say that it has been labeled wrong imo it should read Moby - Everytime You Touch Me (Darwin Remix) unless it is a whitelabel i have a few that are like that ie someone remixes the track and rather than call it their mix for some strange reason they refer to it as ??? vs ??? however the only vinyl i have like this are bootlegs

It could be that there is no difference and he just felt like putting it like that :)

As i have already stated numerous times on the forum

HARDSTYLE IS MY PREFERRED STYLE

so dont shoot me down just cause i aint haerd of someone after all i was trying to help!!

the reason i have not heard of Darwin as i have also mentioned numerous times is that i think most the new hardcore is utter sh*t, i just love the oldskool

Now feel free to ask questions about that or hardstyle for that matter!!

@bulby_g

I understand what you are saying but imo that aint right Moby made the tune so he should be the one receiving credit for it, darwin has remixed it so that is all he should be getting credit for. And i'm also quite sure Moby wouldn't be happy at him claim credit for producing the track and not only remixing it

Anyway why anyone want to mess with that track is beyond me! You'll never top the original i first heard that over 10 years ago and to this day i still love it! Infact the min i get in from work thats going straight on the TT's

I Have not heard the mix of this tune it might be amazing but surley more credit is due to moby as he was the one with the original idea!

PS if you like moby theres a absolute quality hardstyle tune sampling Moby - Go its on M!D!FY records which is the new offshot of Scantraxx. My advice is hunt it down

Unknown Analoq - Blackout / Motherfu*kers Go

Didn't express my feelings on whether I think it's right or wrong :) It may be a track that isn't getting a proper release anyways, he may have done it for fun. I'm sure it wasn't his intention to take away any credit from Moby.

LMAO.

Darwin is one of my fellow producers at RFU Recordingz. He is the DJ representing the record label, and he has mixed a couple of albums. He has tunes featured on Bonkers and Hardcore Heaven and the likes, and has played at HTID.

There you go:
http://www.discogs.com/artist/Darwin

Brilliant producer, wicked DJ, and great guy.

The track is SUPPOSED to be labeled "Darwin vs Moby - Everytime You Touch Me". Not the way you said it should be... It's a decision made by the label / artist(s), based on a number of things.

Wicked. a/s/l?

Seriously though... The fact you haven't heard of them sort of proves my point that you shouldn't be commenting in the first place without listening first. If you don't even care or listen to any of it, why not leave it to the people who know what they're talking about to comment. ;)

EDIT: Stupid typos.

@ Chris

Sorry didn't know you were into Hardstyle - not been on here much recently so must have missed that.

My understanding had been previously as yours so you can understand my confusion on reading the listing for this mix.

@Chwhynny - what is the difference between V and v then? or have I completely misunderstood you?

Kat

Haha, I do hope you chose to ignore my sarcasm, rather than not notice it.

Anyway, again you proved my point that you shouldn't be commenting if you don't know. So go listen to Darwin, he's good, and does some oldskool style stuff too. It's really quite different from the usual stuff, and I think you may like it. ;)

Sorry, I'm unsure what you mean. V and v? In my world, "v" or "vs" stands for versus, and it can indicate a collaboration between two producers (see below), an update of a tune by a different producer than the original artist, or a remake by someone else (Darwin, in the case of "Everytime You Touch Me").

In some cases it's just a matter of how you want to call something. I've done a tune "versus" Darwin, but it may as well have been labeled as "Darwin & Chwhynny" rather than "Darwin vs Chwhynny". We chose to go for "vs", just because we felt like it that day.
