It's done in exaclty the same way as this thread says: http://www.happyhardcore.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28923

You can get a free program to record called Audacity, you can get it from here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

If you need anymore help feel free to ask.

You don't, all you need is one of these:

And a stereo with red & white output sockets at the back/front. Plug the two phono ends into them, and the other end into your line in socket in your pc. Load up Audacity and select record from line in, record and press play on your tape. That should to the job just dandy.

You don't even need to use a phono to jack lead, you can just use a jack to jack lead. Also it's sometimes neccesary if there is no line out from the hi-fi. You just plug one end of the jack into headphone socket on the hi-fi and the other end into the line in on the sound card :)

sorry but that made me laugh

there should be little images on the sound card/next to the colored sockets that tell you what is what. one is a line in (arrow pointing in), ones a line out (arrow pointing out), and the other is a mic (usually)
