Whats the hardcore scene like in the usa... seems to me most of em just like classic rock and 50 pence (was it cent hehe):>
i mean, when ive been there, the radio stations is just like guns n roses n the calling etc.. just seems as though they like slow crappy stuff. could be wrong. dont mean to insult any american hardcore lovers!

lacking, dnb has a pretty good following. unless you live on the west coast you won't hear much of it.

wisconsin & chicago used to be all aboot the hardcore through the late 90s, starting to slowly pick back up.

nothing wrong with some old gnr, don't care for the new stuff though =P

oh you'll never hear hardcore on the radio, never. the closest i've heard recently was a Cascada track but yeah thats more trance which you will hear on the radio sometimes. As far as the scene, it all kind of depends where you live

Like stated above, it all depends on where you live. A lot of Americans consider thier metal, rock, punk, etc. to be "Hardcore". In my scene, Atlanta, GA, the only Hardcore you will hear is DnB/Jungle, Breaks, and Freeform, some Gabber. One of the locals here in Atl. that does Hardcore will drop 2-3 HHC tracks, he mixed "Whoop There It Is" by Tag-Team, and "In Effect" by Mike Slammer in the same set....and the Dutch HHC mix for "Heaven on Earth" in the same set as "My Name Is(Slim Shady)" by Eminem. He does this thing called "Whatever He Wants To Play Core", so on the flyers, it has that beside his name. Here in America, wherever there is Happy Hardcore, there are a lot of us candy kids! So to make it easier, look at the states that have lots of Candy Kids in them, and thats the states where you will find UK Hardcore. I am happy with the EDM that is played in my scene, but I would like to hear some HHC once and a while.

True, doesn't matter what music it is, people sometimes have to travel to a different country to see their favourite "band/act" etc.

Hardcore is making somewhat of a comeback in the Mountain Standard Time slice of America. Every raver/learning-to-dj dj I know (like 5) spins HHC almost exclusively. Just wait a few years. It'll turn around for the US

Im feel so fortunate to be in this area. Almost some kind of hardcore related event going down every weekend / other weekend. I've really gotta thank Oli-G for improving this scene with his tunes.
Anyone going to *Space Opera? It's a massive and its worth the travel to some of you guys!

We're catching up, don't worry ;)

Hmm, I think I'm going to get on top of putting N.A. events w/ hardcore in the event calendar, there's a fair amount going on right now, just needs to be exposed. biggest problem here is the country is so big and disconnected. that's going to have to change ;)

Very true.

We should do a national hhc.com North American Hardcore Movement Tour :)
and/or start throwing parties under that name.

That's one of the aims of the show, to get people from the major areas in touch with eachother and working together to bring in the UK guys on tour cheaper, and get the people who have really contributed to the scene noticed beyond their borders.
