Had to put my dog to sleep. She was a ripe old age (15) and had a good life, but damned if I don't feel like I lost a member of my family.
my dad and step mom over in dudley had to put one of there 2 dogs down last month...
zac was his name... he was a samiad (them big fluffy white dogs from the north pole)...
he had been blind for the last year, and had problems with his legs!
they cut all his hair off so he could walk easyerly///
he used to have his place in the corner of the the living room behind the sofa...
and he used to walk out evertime retracing his steps out the living room, trow the kicthing, and to the garden... as he'd walk it his whole life... so the path was like locked in his head!
h'ed always walk into things, and sometimes he'd loose his way... so he'd just find his way back to his place behind the sofa.... and start all over again...
bless him!!!!!
His missed man!
so i know the feeling!

i know how you must feel right now as my dog is suffering from cancer. she doesn't seem to be in any pain at all but i can't bring it to myself to end her life after having her around for nearly 12 years.

it would be hard losing a pet, growing up with it and getting attached, it would be like losing a family member, sad to hear that

I had to do the same to my old brother, a dog named sam who was older than me at the time. He was 17 and I was 15. He was a strong field spaniel dog, but his lungs were giving out and were filling with liquids. He was suffering badly, we had to do it. I've never cried that hard in my entire life.

Dog's are always loyal companions, maybe time will be a great healer for you. I suppose you have to remember the best times you've had with him, and may his doggy soul rest in piece!
