I know we take the piss because the tunes often take so long to get a release, but if i was running a business with that much going off i'd never manage to do anything!

Would they sell more if they got them out faster?

Tough question. Looks to me like most releases get that initial burst of sales on release - whether we've waited 2 weeks or 2 years for them.
There's nothing wrong with holding on to releases to generate more interest but i think if you wait too long you'll inevitably lose sales.
Even though i went through a phase of buying more or less every Hardcore vinyl, i did skip tunes that i had become tired of - and i'm not just talking about RB as culprits. The idea of bringing out these new packs is a stroke of genius if you ask me - people will definitely buy them just to own one or two of the tracks on them (me included).
I could list 20 tracks that have been around on for a while that i'd love to own on vinyl, but tunes do drop off that list if i've waited too long.

The packs if packaged correctly are a very good idea. As you say people will buy a pack for just one track or two if they want them.
The problem stems from having some many producers on the same label. Is this why UFO started his own label so he could get his track out and get some sort of return on them?
To many tracks for one label to handle or is it more that Hixxy is too busy to spend the time and effort to worry about getting releases out in a timely fashion.

If he did get them out in a timely fashion he would lose money. Raverbaby DJ's aren't daft, they know that their tunes are very popular and they will attract alot of people. So leaving it a while to release tunes ensures that if a promoter wants upfront Raverbaby style tunes at his event then he will have to book a Raverbaby DJ.
So basically while the their tunes are fresh, if you want to hear them you're gonn a either have to go to a rave where they are playing or buy a CD with them on, both I suspect generate more money that record sales...

Firstly i doubt anybody has any say in when tracks get released except Hixxy. I bet if any of the big name dj's asked hixxy for a promo copy of one of his tracks he wouldnt hesitate to give it to them. Timely fashion wouldnt mean realeasing the tracks straight away more inline with other labels.
