Well, Bonkers 7 took on the whole "nu skool" style. A lot of people hated it. The sales went down. Hardcore itself sorda died. Not a lot of ppl liked the new sound of Hardcore in 1999. I think Bonkers 8 came out around 2001-2002. It was considered a "comeback" for Hardcore (I dont have Bonkers 8, so I dont know the songs on it, except Sy's mix). Sy's mix featured rare tracks off Bonkers 1 & 2, there was something for everyone! Then we had Bonkers 9 which brought Scott Brown to the series. But ya, Bonkers 7 was nothing but mainly fast trance tracks(slow for Hardcore), hardly any vocals on any of the mixes. Sy sorda had the more 'happy' hardcore mix. Anabolic Frolic's "Happy2bHardcore" ch.5 (which came out in the same time frame as Bonkers 7), was a whole lot better! That cd proved that Hardcore was still out there (to me, it did). I may not h ave all the right facts as I didnt get into HHC untill 2001, so this is all based on what I have been told from other ppl who have been into Hardcore for years.
