I was well shocked when I heard about this. I used to love his shows. I feel really bad for his family as well. R.I.P.

atleast the man can say he died doing what he loved...really sad for his family though

most people recover from stingray stinger, but I guess not when you get it in the chest =/ they said he pulled it out but then went into convulsions, I'm guessing cardiac arrest...

i think that this is way more innappropriate then the picture of steve, this is just making his death a joke and its a shame you think its so funny!

Jesus christ i dont no the guy i'm not exactly gonna be griefstricken, the pictures funny and i'll post it if i want.

I thought the guy was cool to watch on tv, defo made me laugh and from what people say he done a lot for wildlife etc.

But if your gonna spend your life wrestling crocodiles and kissin poisonous snakes dont be surprised if you dont make it to old age.

Sad for his wife and kids but he new the risks he took.

And all the people on msn changin there names etc hahahaha, fair play for people who were really fans but its mostly just people jumpin on the bandwagon and you wont see me doin it.

yeah well i guess you have to grow up here to understand what a great person he really was.

the guy had two kids and a wife, i dont care how many people say to me "yeah well, you mess with dangerous animals thats what do you expect"

he brought alot of people closer to those animals than they would ever get, plus he loved what he did passionatly (if you ever see that one episode where he cries over the dead croc).

i lost my dad much in the same way when i was 18 (in 2003) (not by a stringray) but my dad was in his 50s, very healthy, slim, never smoked or drank and he died from a heart attack. just from the shock that the family must be going through it hits close to home a bit for me.

i actually got very upset when i found out about steve.

death sucks.

IMO Most people watched it because it made them laugh! Not because they were interested in the crocs etc, Yea its harsh he's dead, but just like if u play with knives your gonna cut yourself! You play with deadly animals ur gonna die from it one day!

not necessarily.... any ways this topic was to pay respect to steve not to make a joke out of his death and not to fight with each other as well.

Fair enough buddy i'm just not really one of them people who gets upset when people i dont no die.

Aye if i was a major fan or something but tbh i just found his shows amusing cos he was a crazy, didnt take much more of an interest.

Doubt i'd be any different if i grew up in aus, i remember when i was about 13 over here and Prioncess Diana died.

Everyone was makina a massive fuss people crying and stuff, all i remember was thinkin what a bunch of clowns. I've got nuff aussie mates aswell (londons fulla you's ) and there not takin it too seriously.

Like DMS says got more important things to worry about like my own friends and family than to get bothered about people i dont no.

Exactly mate but as soon as someone dies everyone plays the "aww i'm so sad, what a legend".

Not sayin he didnt have real fans but most people just want something to talk and cry about, if it wasnt in the papers or all over the net they would just get on with there day like normal.

R.I.P. Steve.

Now I have paid my respects I will join the convo.

I'm on Chris's side.

Sure Steve was a legend but you play with fire (or crocs for that sake) you will get burned.

A lifetime of showing ppl how dodgy crocs were is a ****ing massive risk

Cant really compare soldiers fighting in a war to jumping on dangerous animals mate. Obviously when joining the army you would think to yourself theres a chance i will be killed and you make the choice.

But to be honest i dont make a major fuss when i hear a soldier i dont no dies also, it effects me more than hearing about someone on telly though cos i've got good friends serving in iraq.

I no what your saying its still a man who's died and he wasnt doin anythin wrong, but the reason animals go for him is he wrestles them and scares them lol.

Anyway i loved his shows, r.i.p same as anyone else who dies.
