Howcome it's so easy to find old skool UK/Scottish HHC, but its hard to find Dutch Hardcore releases? The only cd I have that has mainly Dutch Hardcore is "Happy 100". Is there any Dutch HHC still produced, or have the old producers left/moved on to something else?

im guessing the dutch scene is just harder, so they produce mostly what we call Gabba (which is FAR more popular than our 'hardcore' aka their 'happy hardcore')

(forgive me if im wrong)

Nowadays the best dutch producers, like the Prophet Buzz fuzz, dj Sim, Weirdo, dJ Vince, dj Gizmo, Ruffneck, etc. etc. don't produce happy hardcore anymore..
Theye all Changed styles..

I think the "happy hardcore scene" in Holland died in 1997..
Hardcore was very comercial and a big hype in that periode..
That's the reason why..
The dutch gabber-scener began to get harder and harder..

The best periode of (Happy)- Hardcore was from 1994 till 1998..

Don't like the New Hardcore..

To me the Dutch stuff was both in the early days Hard or Chedder! but even the UK stuff was either Happy or dark! and the Dutch DJ's would play both styles! (in my mind anyway) thats why I love it so much, you would get the cheese and then straight into harder original stuff!

now both countries are similar with the big boys its got to much trance! they seem to be to much into production and not into the music! nothing stands out!

there are a few dutch producers that produce happyish hardcore, just not to many. like previously stated, hardcore went commercial and there was a large backlash against it like there was for disco in the states in the 80s.

I like raving to some of it, it's very different from the old stuff and effects your mind in a different way. Some can still be a good energy release but is a lot more darker and techno style the stuff i like now.

It doesnt hit the spot like the classics though, just for full on energy, nice bouncy beats and party atmosphere.

Anyone into this style download JSPR's mixes, some of the best hardcore your ever gonna hear

Wouldnt worry too much about happy gabber, as said on the other thread dutch people dont call there music gabber so to them it's just happyhardcore and is simpler jus callin it that.

I do understand what people mean though a good example would be Happymen "Love is you" vinyl

If you listen to the happy mix and then the stunned guys remix you'll notice the stunned guys mix is a lot more bangin and hyper, wheras the happy ones more euro soundin and bouncy.

Same with another well known track 4 tune Fairytales "My Little Fantasy" the Bass D and King Matthew mix is a lot harder than the radio edit.

If your mixing with bouncy techno you'd use the happy gabber mix most likely, but if your mixin with old brittish happy hardcore more likely the radio edits.

So long story short if any difference happy gabber just happy hardcore with a kick up the arse

Right!!

Almost all the (dutch) vinyl-releases of happy hardcore, have a radio-edit....like all the Pengo releases..
But Dj's didn't play the radio-edits at the raves in the nineties, ( 95-97), The remixes are always be favorite...

There were a lot of dutch happy hardcore producers in the nineties, but there were a few great inspirators which made huge releases..
A lot of stupid and awful releases were produced by anybody who thought he could make music..

Same feeling..
Off course I like a lot of the new stuff..but can't get the same feeling.
