hey, i was looking through http://www.hardervinyl.com , and i noticed 'Makina'.. now ive heard this name before, but never knew what it sounded like, so i decided to listen to some sound clips, and i really like it :D
reminds me of music in oldschool games like f-zero or whatever
however, i noticed that the vinyls on there were 1999-2002 .. so then the question is.. is makina popular now? (if it ever was), and do you guys have some recommendations on good tunes?

wong, take your oppinions elsewhere...
Makina have existed for a while, since around 1997-98 I think. most older Makina tracks uses alot of the so called 'mosquito' samples

an opinion would be said along the lines of this - "personally i dont like it"
a complete utter waste of space of a reply would be like what you said - " dodgy spanish hardcore, dont touch it"
you have an opinion, fair enough u can voice it, but dont tell people not to touch it just cause you dont like it

I love Makina, just never hear it anymore. I loved the loud noizes placed over everything else, like the sound of chalk boards being scratched. One question...are the songs made that way? or are the noizes just put over the songs by the DJ?

Makina is mostly mixed with 3 decks, so generally there's almost always 2 tracks being played

Aye factoriasonoras a wkd shop get all your spanish styles plus some belting old hard trance (Dave Tee no's the score).
I was into makina for years, lived for the BCN style mixes and loved it all right through to the new monkey style.
It's a fun music style but as times went on my tastes have changed and not much of it appeals to me anymore.
My fav dj's were always Pastis + Buenri, Bolo + Uri, Javi Tracker and Scotlands own Haston, really amazing turntablists who use 3 or 4 decks constantly mashin stuff up.
Like Lucifius says hastons sites down but i'll try get a set uploaded later on, the guys talent.
