After Having A Discussion With a mate its got me thinking about where is hardcore going..iv seen posts already about what needs to happen but its split between the people that want new tracks to sound like classic hardcore and those who want an evolution...

It can be seen that alot of other types of dance are flourishing in europe and alot more people are noticing but alot of the hardcore that i see geting comercalised in the Uk are the dj's and producers who just rip off other peoples tracks while the other's found on the released albums and who are widley know and respected by the hardcore comunity dont get many mentions next to them... So really what is going to happen??

hardcore needs to go back to the sounds of 92/93. simpy because it sounded better back then.

I read Luna-Cs website, and i really like his thinking.

instead of splitting everything up, unite breakbeats and 4x4 together :).

sort of return to the old sound, but while still progessing.

No it doesnt. That market is being taken care of to some degree by the ever growing hardcore breaks scene.

This forum needs to go back to the ways of 2003/2004. Simply because you didn't post on here then.

You know if you'd only post that as an opinion instead of posting it as if it were a fact, people would find you a lot less abrasive.

baaazing!

don't really know what direction it's going...trance synths have been beaten to death since 2000 but they still sell.

I'd like to see more of a little bit slower tunes put out ~170ish, hard break over a light 4/4. unfortunatly most knobs are all 'if it's not fast it's not hardcore' =P

Just give them a 1000 bpm machine gun kick then.

4/4 kick = ok
Breaks = better
4/4 kick + breaks = win win win.

Just think, Don't know for fact but I BET ANYTHING that people said the same thing about the piano back in the late 90's

Personally IMO i can't get enough of the trance snyth (I'm a tracewhore guys!), but when it comes to hardcore... I bloody can!

Its not the snyth that is at fualt, I just think its the way its being used! But more importantly MIXED!!! A whole set of the same sound, used in EVERY track... Now thats f*cking BORING!!!!

Hear, Alow me to explain my personal style of writing (or atleast, the style i'm producing with atm) - That I'm starting to dowt you'll ever hear (lol only messing)
Its Not to everyones taste, but it will alow you to see where I'm coming from when it comes to hardcore! (or any music for that matter!)
(Although i can still produce alot of others!)

4/4, Breaks, Pianos, Epic PADS!!!! (and more then one ), Trance Leads (snyth), Arps, Acid & Electro Stabs, Wide Bass's, Funky Bass's

Now... Where i use them...

4/4 - Main rythem..
Hard Edge kicks always at the speed of around 175 (NO SLOWER!!)
Breaks - Both 909 & 808!!
Normally slaped in hear and there to add that epicness "**** YEAH" to a melody bulid up... Aswell as distorted breaks that filter up and down (kinda like intros and outros!)
Pianos - Main Melody
Normally the soul melody to give emotion, everything is based around it!
Epic Pads -
Layered with higher & lower noted melodys and synths that all kick in at the right time, This is to add euphoria to back up the emotion!
Trance Snyth -
Lead Melody, Played along with the 4/4!
Arps
Light ones very faitly in the background to add more depth to the lead! Aswell as faders that uplift, and Big Epic ones for say that 2nd half of the lead! Just for that more hard hitting emotion!
Acid & Electro Hits -
This is used for Background, Normally For FX's!
Wide Bass -
Normally kicks in with the 909 break or the main drum bulid up!

Its not the "future of hardcore!" Or evan on topic for that matter!
But play me a track like that ^^^^^ and i won't move off the dance floor

That as a producer, is "my style" - and i'll contuine to write and bulid on it, intill i get bored of it! - for me, i sometimes reject listening to the hardcore out there these days (when i get fed up of it) just to listen to my own, or even better, sit down with a nice cup of tea and work on something new!

THE POINT OF THIS ESSAY!!! *da da daaaaa*
Thats right, Sk8SiM now comes with a new feature to fass forward (just shut the **** up si and get on with it!)
Is that i think its importent that producers "push the bouders" on ONLY THERE STYLE!!!
That ^^^ is the only way hardcore will evole! you can't possalbe tell a producer to change the way they write music... thats stupid! Cuse they have there own way of doing things, they write music that they themselfs like and WANT to listen to it!

Even the legand himself - LUNA C!!!! has his own style (as told above)... thats his way of doing things... no one else! Saying "hardcore should be more like this" is just plain ignorent come to think of it (even though i say it myself) But you can understand can't you?

So when you hear a producer say "were pushing the boundarys of hardcore" - they basiclly mean there pushing there own style of it! Trying something new of the way they produce... the only problem is... Not alot of them are doing it (intiill of late) and that my friends ^^ is the only way hardcore will evole!

So lets just rephase the question shal we...
When will we see more new, unexposed talent in the scene????
^^^^ cuse IMO... thats what we need to be looking for!

When discussing Luna-C and you mention his style what do you mean? Do you mean the way he makes his tracks his style of production(the way he works) or do you think all his tracks have a particular style to them?

Everything! The way one human brain works!
What makes someone go "ahhh i think i'll try that! or mabie this..."
That all adds to ones style, as another DJ would do something completely different!

I think luna C has a blatent style that stands out above the crowd... he does things differently, as you say "not one of his tunes are the same"
^^^ well... thats just his style enit (His way of doing things)

I don't mean style asin choice of synths and sounds... there free for everyone to use, but can add a little sense of style in some cases...

IMO, Style is more of how someone express's themselfs through music...after all, music is an expression
