Hi everyone, ive just signed up today so thought id say hi. ive been djing for 3 months or so, and im just building up my vinyl collection and gettin the practice in etc. but when the time comes does any1 have any tips for getting a gig sumwer? how do i make clubs let me do an hour set and let me play what i want? also do i offer to do it for free or charge? i live in huddersfield which is quite a student orientated town meaning that most clubs are open every nite of the week, which is good. any help wud be gud. cheers.

show up to events and hand out demo cds to promoters

Welcome to the site.
Gotta get yourself heard. Hand out CD's and get mixes on line. Do lots of self promotion.
Producing is a sure fire way to get noticed as well.
