So after basicly Loosing my entire Digitized music colletion when my big storage HDD went clicky on me (thankfully i can get a free replacement cos its only 7month old :D), ive started re-ripping all my tunes..

im supprised to find that nearly 1/3 of my Hardcore CD's dont exist in the freedb.org database!

so im submitting them as i type em out :D

gotta admit its a damn usefull service!

Thats why I have a 3 copies of my music, One on my normal system drive, which is ghosted to another drive, and also direct copy.

I know it's a pain in the arse with tags as I had I quite a few that were not in the database, But if we don't do it then we shouldn't expect any tags to be there at all, and freedb has been a great help to me. Though I must admit I sometimes wait wait a week or so after a new album is released and hope someone else has done the tags.

Why not rip to FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) XtarsiA if you don't like mp3. I discovered this format not so long ago and I love it.

I rip with this:

With this codec:
