what are they?
ive seen them being talked about and on websites but i havnt got a clue what they are or what they do..

For example if you subscribe to BBC feed, you'll get the news on your browser as soon as their posted. It can be used in various ways, e.g. people that read blogs dont want to check 10's of sites just to check if they have been updated, when you subscribe to the feed, it will be sent to your computer.
Theres an example of the feed's from BBC with Opera, as you can see i get all the headlines, with small info text and a link to the article ->

I also use it on an image site of *cough* *cough* beautiful women, whenever theres new pictures added from my "favourites", i get a link to the image ;)
