Hi, I just registered but I've been trolling here off and on for about 2-3 years now.

I looking to get a cheap midi controller keyboard for Christmas. Milo's website says that he uses the M-Audio Radium 49 and some other hardcore producer (Ryg0r/Acolyte) blog says he used the M-Audio Radium 61. I can get the 49 key one for like $80 and the 61 key one for like $140. The only instrument I've ever played was drums in marching band so I'm kind of clueless. I'm leaning towards getting the M-Audio Radium 61 but I'd like to get people's opinions here first on what some of the other good, cheap(<$150) options that are out there.

I like m-audio & edirol controllers...would like to have a cme but haven't found any stores around here with them. you really don't need a 61+ key but they are nice to have so you don't have to octave stuff up or down

I use an Edirol PCR-30. I think it was about $120 when I bought it two years ago.

I was wondering what you used to make all of those amazing tunes that we all have yet to hear.

Just to conclude the thread, I ended up going with a Emu Xboard 49. It was the cheapest thing I could find with semi-weighted, velocity sensative keys with aftertouch.

I used froogle to find a used M-Audio Radium 49 for $80. The cheapest shipping to my area code(central IL) was $12 though.
