i just found out the i have a very rare blood type so my bf always gives blood every 3 months, but i hate needle and never wanted
to go, i went 3 months ago to give it a shot, but they said my iron levels were very low and i get alot of migrains, i thought i was a
different blood type to what i was which was still rare but no this extreme.

I dont like needles if am having blood taken from me i say 'ouch' before the needle even goes into my arm cos i am a whimp

iluvhrdcor - go for it, chances are you might be saving your own life if you have a really rare blood group
tbh thinking about it is the worst bit, the needle hardly hurts at all, its just like being scratched. if you take someone with you to talk to you while its all happening you often forget whats actually happening

Gave blood a while ago, its really nothing at all to worry bout. Ya dont feel woozy afterward, but dont do anything like a 50mile run afterwards!

after performing therapeutic phlebotomies on people, giving blood freaks me out a little as I know there is a small plug of my skin floating around in the bag =P

I had to get blood taken out before i had surgery... had to do it 3 times but only went twice because my iron count was too low for one of em... taken some iron supplements and that will bring your iron count up for it... my bro has donated blood to the red cross, they give you a meal and a free beer after to help with the wooziness hehe. i dont think the wooziness is too bad but everyone is different, E-rok is right you prob wont want to do anything afterwards, just relax

naa i didnt end up getting to give blood cause the donar bus was gone by the time i got up there, but in three months they come back again. apparently i am RH-
