That sounds like a good idea, but at small club events I've been to, the DJ kind of works with the MC, like with echo effects or whatever, I think they do that? Unless the Mic has a switch or something... If the MC had a way of using a mixer and creating different sounds with his voice it might be cool!

It's a very good idea to do that TBH (if you insist on having MC's ;))

It means you can get your system running at it's best without worrying about someone on the mic ****ing it up. Just make sure you have your speakers distributed as evenly as the main sound system or it sounds dodgy.

nice one cheers for that, got a reply on ush sayin it would be a bad idea.

the speakers id use arnt very good tbh but ill test it out now i know it might work and see what it sounds like

edit - and no choice on mc's, aint my event and its aimed at 16-21 year olds, they like mc's better than the dj's, nothing much you can do really apart from take the set and use it as practise

I can't see how it can be classed as a bad idea... Unless the speakers/amp you use for the mic aren't good enough or you don't place the speakers correctly.

We've done it before and it worked very well.

I'm assuming your gonna be using a small 4 speaker setup? Get your mic speakers next to your tops if you can and it'll sound fine :).

Bloody kids these days ey ;)

Hmmm. It would be hard to tell without hearing how the speakers perform.

Do you have a crossover?

*EDIT* Infact... Even if you have an EQ unit or something use it on the MIC speakers. Cut the bass and boost the upper mid/lower highs (if it needs it) and that will help get the best out of them.
