Why not? Good music should sell its self regardless of the artist name.
Some people like using different names for different types of music

well i like it .. i mean im producin and djin under ma name as dj bugbear.. but soon i team up with my m8.. and its not gonna be dj bugbear & skullcrasher couse i think that sounds lame.. we're gonna think up a name ..
like dreamteam.. good idea they picked one name stead of buzz fuzz & gizmo & dano & the prophet
makes em name lil shorter so the y fit on the tracklists ;)

yea if ya do a lot of collabs with a certain artist , its cool to make a new alias.
i made a remix once of the halloween theme but made up a bogus name related to the speech that was in it

yeah i think if you group up with a person or two..make a combined group name is cool
but when you have 20 million aliases like Scott Brown...yeah not sure what that is about.

scott brown and DJ sharpnel have more aliases than i have hair on my ball sack.
can you explain, why would you use another name? you said for SAME genre, thats just wrong. ok, if you plan on doing something else, like trance/gabber/etc, maybe, i dont know.
