It's just our fashion for Hardcore music. It has been around in North America since Hardcore came over here back in the early/mid 90s.

Every musical genre creates styles that accompany it. Punks have mohawks and leather jackets, countryfolk have the cowboy hats and boots, thugs have the gold grills and necklaces, and so on.

America has alot of candy ravers but I have to say after visiting a full themed party at Candyball in NY it's great fun. Each country has their own slightly unique hardcore vibe but it's always good :)
