I'm moving to Chicago in the fall...and I was wondering what the scene's like for hardcore?
Is there one?
If so, where...and can I be a part of it.
I'm applying for a spot on University of Chicago's radio station (that's where I'll be going), so I'll be contributing what I can in that way, but I'd like to hear some news about the scene or lack thereof.

used to be pretty big in the mid 90s...not so much anymore =P
there are still the odd parties held there that have 'ardcore..not sure who the promoters are there nowadays...last I heard from Nate most of them are shady (big surprise)

based on fliers, it at least has a scene!
there's a production company up there called infared(I think...), that has been throwing some shows, i know one was recently called street raver(i think no left turned played at it), and they had a bunch of others on their myspace page, i can dig that up for you if you'd like.

Sweet, at least there's something. Nashville has zero hardcore events, and some electronic producers coming through every now and then. John Digweed, Gabriel & Dresden, etc...

infared does good stuff. depending on when you're moving there are some things on the way in chi-town for you to check out last i heard.
