Hello fellow HappyHardcore members,

I love happy hardcore music more than any other style of electronica/techno out there. And trust me, I am someone who has listened to every kind of techno style out there and I always love to broaden my horizons as far as interesting artists go.

I like d&b (Panacea, Technical Itch, Dieselboy...), trance (Tiesto, Corsten, A&B...), house (Benassi, Guetta...), drill&bass (Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares...), and the list of artists/styles goes on - but nothing attracts me as much as the raw power coming from the sounds of happy hardcore. Especially from the 16 Bonkers albums (namely Scott Brown, Plus System, Hixxy, Brisk & Ham...).

But there is only one problem - none of my friends like it as much as I do! That is probably because I live in Canada and all people like here is rap, Chicago house, and the new generation of lame emo-rock. Therefore, the reason why I subscribed to this forum! I want to learn more about this genre and I hope it'll open my eyes to the other great hardcore artists out there that I do not know of.

I am not a raver dude. I listen to hardcore music on my MP3 player or on my computer, and in the rare occasions that it plays in bars. I guess the reason I never went to a rave is, well, none of my friends go. I also got this stereotype (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong) that most people who go to raves like to take E or other types of pills to boost their whole raving experience. Not that I mind really, but it's not my style of "high" if you know what I mean. Would you suggest me to find a couple of close friends to experience this rave phenomenon nonetheless? The whole idea always seemed to be a lot of fun...

Any of your comments/replies will be greatly appreciated. This is my first topic and post, afterall! You guys got any personal tips? :)

Thanks all!

E is big in the rave scene, sadly, but its your own choice to take it, and E does not make the raver.

Well, I have a suggestion, but I might be in trouble with the higher ups for letting this sort of information go. (you may be a spy from the Vatican, but I'm gonna guess you're not.)

1. Travel to your local postal office.
2. Ask for "Falcon." If they act confused, just tell them to cut the crap, and that you've "kissed the pope's ring" They'll know what you mean.
3. Follow the man in the yellow derby.
4. After precisely 17 minutes, he'll turn and say "time to go crazy", at which point you should say "cause it's hardcore time." If he fails to turn, book it, because you've been deceived, and our whole organization may be in danger of imminent destruction.
5. Follow him to the old abandoned glowstick factory. Depending on where you are, this could involve getting in his car, or putting on the phat pants of destiny. Either way, do whatever he asks.
6. Enter the factory alone. Ask no questions. Go to the man in the red robe.
7. Do whatever is asked of you, without questioning. The initiation is intense, but livable.

When you leave the factory, you'll be a part of the uber1337 hardcore raver clan, and we shall accept you fully, and will show you where all the cool parties are. We shall teach you our ways, and you shall soon learn all of the deep and ancient mysteries of hardcore. Good luck, and God speed.

Woah...sorry for the rough introduction.

We can so totally suggest new artists and sounds. Just keep checkin the forums, and listen to the radio...

By the way, Scott Brown is Plus System.

Any other hardcore artists you like?

All I can say right now is: Darwin, CLSM, & Luna C should satisfy your hardcore tastes....

Hey guys, thanks for the replies! Funny stuff :)

Leto, I had no idea Scott Brown was Plus System. Makes sense though, they sound almost the same style-wise! BTW I love CLSM, Darren Styles is ok, so's Dougal, Gammer, I also ilke Cube::Hard but I wouldn't categorize it directly as Happy Hardcore, but more like Trancecore or something...

And my favorite hardcore artist would definately be Scott Brown, and song would be Flow by Scott Brown ft. Cat Knight.

Keep em coming!

Cube::Hard is teh shit.

Check out Milo, Ponder, Wizbit, etc. if you like that sound.

Also, if you're looking for some good music for free, check out Cube::Hard's record label RFUGrey.

http://www.rfugrey.co.uk/

Excellent stuff there.

yes everyone that goes to raves is on something and you're not a raver unless you shoot up =P

if you can't go to a party w/o being on something then you don't need to be going to parties. you should go to parties because you want to hear music. most of the time, music is enough of a drug by itself.

I don't understand why raves get beat down by the media so much when I find the same if not more drug abuse at concerts.

who cares what your friends listen to, go to a party by yourself. you could come out having new friends.

^^^ Too true. If you cant make friends at raves... i dont think you can make friends anywhere.

A rave is like an anonymous meeting of people who want to be friends....

only not so geeky.
