is this something that only happens in england?
In australia i've also found that people who piss on the bowl shit while sitting down, and they do this for much the same reason that the ladies leak sitting down. in fact the only legitimate reason i can think of for not sitting down while taking a dump is either doing it off a cliff or a bridge. which might happen occasionally. or even frequently if the need arises. not that i would ever do such a thing

I say i'd hang mine over if i didn't rip the holder from the wall after that late curry i had, and as for stopping 'Splash back' i pre-pad the L.Z with tissue so it lands in a cushion.

Japan has some of the most uncomfortable toilets lol. If your not used to them, some of the public restrooms still have the "hole in the ground" where you have to crouch to do anything.
