I'm actually working on some bouncy techno tracks lately (and I'm getting an Alpha Juno 2 pretty soon too.) I have to admit, it is pretty difficult to get the right amount of rawness with the polished equipment of this day and age, but it's do-able (especially with the mighty power of sampling.) The bouncy techno/oldschool gabba sound is going to make a comeback in a big way, imo, especially over in the states. I've been showing a lot of bt and gabba to various friends of mine (who tend to be into metal and rock), and they've been really receptive to it, because they love aggressive music. The American midwest is definitely going to spawn the next trend of hard and fast music, and if the old guard of techno and house begins to step down (and maybe some punk/metal crossover starts happening), hardcore can definitely capitalize on the current generation's lack of something to call their own. Hardcore will never die!

Yep that would be kewl, love the sound from that era. Maybe send Scotty Brown an email and tell him to pump out a few classic sounding tunes from the golden hardcore days on his label evolved. (like someone said) Guess the closest thing you have to bouncey techno these days would be the THIN N CRISPY label run by Robbie Long and some of Hams stuff on NEXT GEN. Druid and Stormtroopers 'pump this party" is a perfect example of the new Bouncey Techno sound.

Indeed! Its called Evolution! And its how music [And everything else] works!
Electronic music is the genre that had the biggest impact upon the world in this area!
The term "Recycling" comes to mind!
i.e. "sampling" the old - to recreate something new from it [and most the time something completely different!]
New genres are formed, new artists rise, new labels and nights are launched!
Its not just how the music industry works - but nature itself

Only it sounds polished, the 'beats' are 'soft' which means I won't consider it Bouncy Techno, Seduction has done this as have Dougal and Gammar, but it is too weak to mbe 'real' Bouncy Techno!

Again. Look no further than Oxygen Records. XL and NuFoundation have some wicked bouncy techno tunes with "hard beats" (whatever the hell that is :P).

I get what your saying dean but some of us dont care if it sounds old or outdated, if done properly with the right hardware and without modern equipment i'd love to hear some new bouncy techno or rotterdam style from back then.
It's no way forward for the brittish hardcore scene or whatever, but i just wanna hear some stompin hardcore i like whether its new or old. Couldnt care if its goin backwards or not.
Agree with smoogie about a lot of tracks taking influence from bouncy techno just not been bangin enough, there was a lot of weak bouncy techno aswell but that doesnt do it for me either, to be honest i steer more towards the dutch sound in general.
Oxygen records are quality got a mix they put up a while ago is defo on the right track sounds the spit of the babyboom sound. Only problem is im still vinyl only til i can afford one of them programs for pc/laptops.
To be honest though most the people sayin they want new reworks of this style should just get into collecting the older stuff, if your including the old rotterdam gabber there's literally 1000's of releases, lots of rarities and it'd take years and a small fortune to get everything worth having.
Check out labels like terror trax, dwarf, babyboom, coolman, trashcan, rotterdam, ruffneck, industrial strength, bass generator, early evo's, evo gold, twisted vinyl, screwdriver, mokum and loads more from 94-97

The way I see it is if it is new to me, then it is new, maybe it could have been made in 1994 or 2007, if I havn't heard it then it is new
Im also leaning towards Old Skool Dutch aswell, love those Paul Elstak Bassdrums and I think slowly people are starting to get into tat stuff after listening to all the Bonkers and reaslising how much more there is to 'Old Skool' but then if they havn't heard it then it would be 'New'
Nu Foundation's Bouncy Techno mix from last year was a treat, it was new to me!

i dont think if producers made bouncy techno again they would go on a quest to get the sound from the 90's but just that flavour and style, i think even if they did they wouldnt get that exact sound anyway, it would be a revamped style.

your right, there are so many out there from them years, endless searching, i think the dutch dj's thinking happy hardcore was a sell out was a killer cause the way you could connect the dutch bouncy techno to the scottish stuff was class, they bounced off each other
