Why is the music made so slow, but played fast? Is it just made slow just to make the effects it has when its sped up?

I guess the speed of a track and the speed it's played is all up to the individual who makes/plays it.
Some write fast tracks, some slow. Same goes for playing tracks, I prefar to play at a fast tempo but not too fast, some over do it with the tempo imo.
Personal taste I suppose.

What? Songs aren't usually pitched up all that much (most turntables don't go past 12%). I think you're thinking of RPM (the speed at which the record spins), which has nothing to do with tempo.

To get the pitch right, Play it to fast, on a platter that does a certain BPM it will come out chipmunk style, so they cut it slow for the Turn Table standard RPM (Revolutions per minute.) there for making it come out the correct pitch, hence why you pitch up on 35/45 speed the pitch gets higher and becomes chipmunk, do it slow and it goes lower.
Pure (Correct me if im wrong.)

not really sure what you mean?
in terms of hardcore, most records are in the 170ish area, and i rarely hear people play much over 180!

ok i understand your question now
yeah, they make it at the lowest speed you'd ever really play hardcore at, because when pitched down (as it would have to be, if it were pressed faster), music sounds much worse then when it's pressed slower and pitched up

I can't believe I didn't know that. Now it all makes so much more sense.

Well, I dont have any turntables or any dj equipment, so all this talk about 12% pitch and stuff is all a blur to me. But I think I got my answer.

to change the speed of the record you use the pitch slider, technics are +/-8%, some decks are +/-12%, others go up to 25% or even 50%.
it's literally a little slider that goes from -8% at the top to +8% at the bottom. at 0, it'd be the speed the record is pressed at, at +8% it'd be 8% faster than as pressed, and i'm sure you can figure out what -8% would be! you use that to control how fast the record is played so you can beatmatch.
