With the recent lack of CD compilations in hardcore, and the news that various hardcore artists are leaving the industry (most recently impact and resist), do you think it is possible that many hardcore producers and DJ's are just plain sick of hardcore? Over the last few months, i have recognised a lack in both quality and quantity releases from hardcore in general, i doubt this is the over-hyped 'death' of hardcore, but it is not encouraging at all. Thoughts?

What producers are leaving the industry? From reading the front page both Impact and Resist will both still be involved in the music biz.

just watch for the next breed of producers and dj's to come thru, it takes fresh ideas to keep a scene alive, and unfortunately the likes of the raver babys and euro-dance hardcore will make the sounds stagnant.

Mainly MC's, when i say producers i mean that i can foresee many following the likes of Impact and Resist. True, it says they will both still be involved in the music business, but does not state they will continue their work in the hardcore industry.

Major compilations though? One's which are heavily advertised, fairly decent and get more than mediocore sales. The likes of the 'Worlds Greatest Hardcore and 'Original Hardcore Selection' which have recently come out with no disrespect are not major compilations. They're certaintly not up there with the likes of Bonkers, Hardcore Heaven e.t.c.

The front page clearly states that Impact will continue to run the label that they set up together. I've never heard of any genre of music being called an Industry. The music business as a whole yes. Single genres never.
