Can all you hardcore lovers put one of my mates straight who keeps going on about how hardcore is dying off & how nobody hardly listens to it anymore coz it all sounds the same & all the top producers are getting sick of it & want to change to a different genre. The funny thing is he used to love hardcore back in 94 - 98ish but now just listens to all this being in a band & playing a guitar shite!!

You can always raise the same argument about "being in a band & playing guitar shite".
All sounds the same and people get sick of it <<< generic argument.
Thing is, songs sound the same as others because it's in a genre, not because people lack imagination. As for hardcore "dying", I hear more of it coming out of houses and cars these days than I think I ever have.
People bang on about the "death" of hardcore because they're cynical and can't accept change.

Same old story tell ya mate hardcore has a massive variation there is so many different styles UK Hardcore, Freeform, Hardcore Breatbeat, Makina, Gabber, Breakcore, Nu Rave etc [They have didfferent names depends on your view] from many different countries.
Hardcore takes on many styles from other genres including rock music with guitars, bass &
drums. There is a world following of hardcore its getting bigger from what I've seen in the last few years.
Its now being released under the biggest dance labels around All Around The World & Ministry of Sound etc there has been revivals of old skool labels like raindance, helter skelter etc.
I walk down my high street and go into HMV, Virgin or a small retailer and find any hardcore cd i can think of.
I've never seen some many producers and releases so i can't see it dying anytime soon with company's organizing hardcore weeks in Spain, hardcore Weekender's and hardcore events across the world and selling out in massive venues like Alexander Palace.
You see hardcore getting played at Godskitchen Global Gathering that gets 40,000 people for that weekend and the tent get overflowing when Hixxy Plays.

I hate it when peeps who used to be into a certain style of music then change what they listen to and then completely ditch their previous choice & try to say that the other type is now shite. Be opened minded about music.
Fair enough, maybe the scene went into a direction not to everyones tastes, but please do not right it off & start biggin' up saying."Scenes dead, no good!!!!!"
I'm glad the scene is back again, although i haven't been to a recent event, but on the back of what has already been posted in a reply, plenty of guys n gals from round my area certainly are bangin' tunes out from their stereos in their motors, and it sounds pretty damn fresh.
Hardcore will certainly never die

dont mean to sound like a twat but dont you remeber that hardcore died before as all the tracks started sounding very simaliar, so you cant predict whether it will or not.
One of my mate is a hard house lover and he says that hardcore is shit and sounds all the same and that its slowly dieing, he also says that top hardcore producers are stealing all hard house tunes :S

Music should always be about what YOU like anyway, who cares what anyone else likes! Hardcore has never died to me in the 17 years I've been listening.

I cringed when I read the title of this post.
I died a little inside when I read the replies.
Hardcore is a type of music, how can it 'Die'? Its not alive.
Music will always progress and change, to what? Who knows. Just like it while its here and enjoy the ride.

I thought that hardcore died down around the time between bonkers 7 and bonkers 8 (the ressurection)
the ressurection being the time it came back,
if any of you have watched the DVD that comes with HARDCORE HEAVEN - Live at the sanctuary, in the intro MC storm talks about how hardcore started to sound the same and with no real difrrent sounds.
could be wrong tho, just something that i heard, i might have heard the DVD rong :S
