Call my insurance company, and realise they only pay a portion of the loss when it comes to records. Then i would call a lawyer which would be paid by the same insurance company, since the deal included insurance for legal help.

It would depend on your insurance policy and how much it covers. Its very easy to leave yourself insufficiently covered with contents insurance, unless you sit down and work out the value before hand as amounts can very quickly mount up.
With specific items or collections you should inform your insurance company when you take out the policy, then come to an agreement with them. You may be required to get it valued which would be tricky if you continue to add to your collection.

I seem to remember somthing similar happened to a member off here a while back (ryg0r perhaps?)
Some dirty little b*stard broke into their car and stole all of their tunes.

i think you need a full catalogue of all your records and a photo of the collection before they will pay out, suppose it depends on the company though
